Statement regarding Sunday cancellations of Northern trains

Reacting to the news that Northern are again cancelling services in some areas this Sunday, Barry White, Chief Executive of Transport for the North, said:

“We are disappointed that passengers in the North are being let down again. All train cancellations are inconvenient and regrettable but to have multiple cancellations on the same day with very little notice is clearly unacceptable. Passengers are again being put in a position where they cannot make travel plans with confidence. Transport for the North, through the Rail North Partnership, has called on Northern to provide more clarity on what is being done urgently to resolve this serious problem.”
