Transport for the North has welcomed the launch of the Rail Delivery Group’s ‘In Partnership for Britain’s Prosperity’ Plan, which brings together train companies, Network Rail, and suppliers around a plan for a changing and improving railway.
Transport for the North (TfN) has welcomed the announcement last week of government funding to improve local roads in the North of England. The Government has confirmed the 33 improvement schemes across the North which will get a share of the £100 million funding for local roads announced at last month’s Conservative party conference. Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling, has also pledged £46.8 million towards the Middlewich Eastern Bypass scheme in Cheshire East.
Transport for the North has welcomed the publication of the National Infrastructure Commission’s ‘Congestion, Capacity, Carbon: Priorities for National Infrastructure’ report and looks forward to contributing to the consultation on a National Infrastructure Assessment.
