Transport for the North’s will formally take up its powers for the first time as England’s first Sub-national Transport Body at its inaugural board meeting on Thursday 5 April 2018. The meeting will be open to members of the public and will take place at Mann Island in Liverpool.
England’s four Sub-national Transport Bodies (STBs) say the Government should work with them to define its new Major Road Network (MRN), as part of an unprecedented joint response to the Department for Transport’s MRN consultation.
Transport for the North, the statutory body representing civic and business leaders from across the whole of the region, has welcomed the Government’s proposal to identify a Major Road Network for England and highlighted the roads in the North of England which should be included.
