Why work with us at Transport for the North?

By joining our award winning team you’ll have the chance to help deliver on our vision of a thriving North of England.

Transport for The North is a not-for-profit organisation and the UK’s first sub-national transport body. Our purpose is to drive economic growth and prosperity across the region – helping to deliver a vibrant economy through transport investment and planning.

This pan-Northern purpose underpins a devolved approach to creating new jobs and opportunities; increasing the resilience of the North as a global economy; underpinning industrial productivity and clean growth in key sectors; and futureproofing our economy and enabling people to build a life in the North.

Along with our partners, we speak with #OneVoice to Government, driving transformational economic growth and creating a vibrant, prosperous North through better connectivity and world-class integrated smart technology.

Our employees are key to us succeeding. Our people are our strongest investment, and our investment in our people makes our people strong.

In the community

Each year we ask colleagues to vote for a charity to support as part of our wider mission to improve lives across the North of England.

In 2023, we’re proud to be supporting The Trussell Trust, through fundraising within our team and promotion of the charity’s important messages.

The Trust works to fight hunger in the UK and supports a nationwide network of more than 1,300 food banks.

Throughout the year we will be organising various fundraising activities, from bake sales, the classic quiz and some entertaining team challenges.

For more information on how you can get involved and donate food, please visit The Trussell Trust website.
