This meeting of the Transport for the North Audit & Governance Committee has been cancelled.Due to the Covid 19 crisis, our statutory deadline for accounts submission was deferred until the end of November.
Prior to finalising the audit, the external auditors are waiting for sign off from the Pension Fund audit that would confirm the pension liabilities in our accounts are final. We have been advised this sign off is likely to be received in early September.
Based on the pending confirmation from the pension audit, and in order to ensure we have a set of accounts which have been fully audited and can therefore be approved by the committee without caveat, it is felt preferable to defer the approval to the A&G meeting of 24 September 2020. The accounts will then be submitted to the Board for approval on 18 November 2020.
Please note that whilst you will be able to watch public items, you won’t be able to make comments or speak to members. A copy of the public proceedings will be published after the meeting has taken place.
Transport for the North Audit and Governance Committee Meetings will be open to the public, however, in order to fulfil our obligations on commercial confidentiality and data protection, the public will be excluded from being present for certain agenda items at meetings where confidential or ‘exempt’ information is discussed.
