With Roman roots and a Viking past, York is a magical city and home to the oldest shopping street in Europe. In this beautifully preserved medieval city, train enthusiasts can uncover 300 years of railway history at the National Railway Museum, and chocolate lovers can learn the stories behind the greatest names in chocolate.

National Roads Fund

We’ve worked with City of York Council to submit a bid for funding for the dualling of the A1237.

If supported by the National Roads Fund, this scheme would upgrade the current single carriageway and provide a cycle path over the River Ouse and East Coast Mainline.
