There have been a number of recent announcements and comments made by the Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling, relating to rail infrastructure projects in the North of England.

Transport for the North (TfN) met with business and public sector delegates in Hull on Monday 17 July to showcase locally, for the first time, the evidence that will inform its Strategic Transport Plan.

Transport for the North welcomes today’s announcement from government confirming the proposed HS2 Phase 2b routes north of Birmingham, including confirmation of related plans for developing the Northern Powerhouse Rail network.

The new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, Jesse Norman MP, has made his first public appearance in his new role alongside Transport for the North at the inaugural Northern Transport Summit that the organisation is partnering.
