Bringing together Newcastle, North Tyneside, and Northumberland, the region has a range of natural, historic and cultural assets which make it unique. Train enthusiasts can relieve the glorious steam railway at Stephenson Railway Museum and Newcastle Central Station – one of only six Grade I listed railway stations in the UK.

“Transport is critically important to the future success of our region. Enhanced transport links will boost our economy, improve our environment by providing more carbon-neutral transport links and also greatly improve the health and well-being of people across the North East.”

National Roads Fund

We’ve worked with North of Tyne Combined Authority (NOTCA) to submit a bid for funding to make the case for vital maintenance and enhancement work to the Tyne Bridge..

If supported by the National Roads Fund, this scheme would make a significant difference to those travelling into North East.
