A region steeped in history – with thriving cities, beautiful canals and its own airport. There are major ambitions by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to transform transport and travel across the region over the coming years.

Planned Transport Investment for West Yorkshire

We are supporting the £173.5 million investment in public transport improvements in Leeds, as well as the development of four new rail stations. We’re also invested in the £120 million package of road and sustainable transport improvements on the A629, as well as the £70millon East Leeds Orbital Route investment.

National Roads Fund

We’ve worked with West Yorkshire Combined Authority to submit a bid for funding for Tong Street and Dawsons Corner and Stanningley Bypass.

If supported by the National Roads Fund, these schemes would increase capacity, provide new cycle routes, and improve safety.
